As we approach the Farnborough International Airshow 2024 (FIA24) which will take place July 22–26, 2024, GovExec’s defense experts predict the following five aerospace and defense topics will dominate discussions.

Farnborough 2024 Topic Predictions

1. Drones

Rapid advancements in UAV tactics and technology since 2022 might bring a wave of new products and capabilities, including longer endurance and more sophisticated AI integration. Companies will likely showcase drones with enhanced operational capabilities, making them more versatile for both military and commercial applications.

2. Geopolitical Effects

The Russia-Ukraine conflict and tensions in the Asia-Pacific region are likely to influence the types of defense equipment and technology on display.
