Washington, DC (June 9, 2021) — The Atlas for Cities (The Atlas), a portfolio platform of GovExec, the market leading information services company serving government leaders and contractors, launched a new version of its cutting-edge online community platform. The new version includes deep integrations with its sister publication, Route Fifty, and will deliver additional tools, information and connection—including customized content, discussion forums, virtual office hours—for its monthly audience of over 3,000 government leaders. The announcement was made today by Elle Hempen, Co-Founder, The Atlas & EVP, GovExec, and Ellory Monks, Co-Founder, The Atlas & EVP, GovExec.
Following the December 2020 acquisition of The Atlas by GovExec, the company quickly began exploring ways to expand its online community for local governments leaders and provide them with more opportunities for education, forums for sharing of best practices, and data to inform their decision making. To support those goals, The Atlas began working closely with Route Fifty and is now incorporating Route Fifty articles in discussion forums and as a lynchpin of its new interest digest email functionality, which has already become a community staple. In tandem, Route Fifty has incorporated relevant case studies from The Atlas on each of its news articles, which are customized to the user and aligned to the topic of the article, ensuring a strong user experience across the two platforms.
“This collaboration between The Atlas and Route Fifty is an important step towards building a one-stop-shop for local government learning and sharing,” said Monks. “While it strengthens our individual missions—for us as a peer-to-peer learning platform and for Route Fifty as a news provider—it also benefits our shared mission to uncover the latest information impacting the state and local government communities.”
The new version is the first collaboration of many to come across GovExec’s fast-growing network of State and Local government properties—which now includes Route Fifty, The Atlas for Cities, City & State New York, and City & State Pennsylvania—all with the intent of better serving state and local government leaders looking for must have-information, insights, best practices, and connection. Continued collaboration across these properties will also contribute to the build and roll out of an enhanced set of data products from The Atlas, which are in development and planned to be released later this fall.
“Our data pipeline has expanded significantly as we’ve grown our community, and expanded integrations with our sister companies,” said Hempen. “Over the next few months, this will enable us to build out a set of buyer intent and market intelligence products that allow private sector companies to develop data-driven strategies, more accurately and efficiently score their leads, and accelerate their state and local revenue growth.”
